You Don't Know What You've Got etc etc

Said goodbye to our highest public profile client today, after fourteen years with us they have been bought out by their only UK rival and the new combination will be the only series European rivals to the Americans in their particular field. They really are a homegrown success story, starting off in a small office just down the road from us with two employees they have steadily grown, and contracted at one low point about five years ago, to the point where they now employ more than two hundred people.

They were awarded the Queens Award For Industry two years ago and watching the turnover increase steadily each year to the point where it jumped beyond all possible hopes three years ago has been fascinating. That's not to say that our relationship hasn't been fraught at times, the pressure to deliver audited accounts within six weeks of their year end during our busiest time of the year has had its moments and I can't say that I will miss that.

On a positive note they were good enough to thank me for all my efforts over the years with a celebratory bottle of Champagne upon conclusion of the deal that takes them to a new level and which I hope will bring them continuing success over the next few years.
