Where is our Riccardo ?

Riccardo Montolivio
Or Andrea, Anotonio or Pablo?

I can't see the PFA encouraging their members to invest in Government gilts in the same way that their Italian counterparts did but I do think that the commitment to the cause, regardless of the success of its outcome is something that should be applauded, a real case of 'being in it together'.

The fact that Italians are now a nation of savers might help to explain why attendances at most of the games seen on ESPN this season have been so poorly attended. Watching the coverage this week from various grounds around the country it has been noticeable how poorly even the top clubs are being supported, Lazio's home game on Tuesday night against Udinese seemingly played out before a two-thirds empty Stadio Olympico in Rome.

We were watching an Italian game on ESPN a couple of weeks ago and my son pointed out that the stadium had huge areas of empty seats. I thought it must've been a "one off" but it seems not.

There were two cup games played yesterday afternoon and both on tv and the players must have outnumbered the crowd. Been a strange week for Italian football though, games on Monday and Wednesday afternoons rather than evenings.

In Spain as well, if you ever see coverage of 'minor' La Liga games, sometimes looks more than 3/4 empty...and that was before the crisis hit too.
