Why I Love The Internet (and why Morrissey was correct*)

Back in April 2010 when I visited Germany for the first time I took this photograph of a church in Leipzig. When I returned home and uploaded the photographs to my Flickr account I put the title 'unknown church' underneath it, simply because at the time I didn't know what it was called and it was on the other side of a building site which I couldn't get round or across..

I thought no more of that photograph until last week when I received an e-mail from a fellow photographer who is a member of a website called The Churches of Britain and Ireland who informed me that he had identified my unknown church as the Evangelisch-Reformierte Kirche  which was built in 1899.

My faith in the good that the Interweb can do was instantly resolved, proving how shallow I am!

Great line. So, this Churches of Britain and Ireland, is that all paedophiles and Satanic worship?

(runs away)

Off topic: I have added a couple of updates to my Nov 7th Obama election post, the most staggering of which is HERE.

I actually ignored the e-mail to begin with because I thought it was from a spammer - although not along those lines!

re 7th November I have added a one word reply. Thanks for the link, really fascinating stuff.
