Sort this out now!

It's not just Arsenal and Chelsea who are having problems, we seem to be sinking quicker than Findus share prices and it's all down to the board as far as I can see.

Sam Allardyce's current contract runs out at the end of the season and the public line from both himself and the board up to now seems to have been along the lines of 'we will work something out don't worry' but it is now starting to have an impact on the team and we have some tough games coming up. Big Sam's body language has been all wrong of late, at Aston Villa last weekend he appeared to be simply going through the motions, there was little sign of the emotion we had seen at Old Trafford in the F.A Cup replay last month.

It's not just on the pitch that this lack of decision making is having an impact it now transpires that Andy Carroll’s future depends on whether Sam Allardyce stays at Upton Park. The club has agreed a fee of £17 million fee with Liverpool for the on loan forward but Carroll has apparently told his close friends, who in turn couldn't wait to tell the Sunday People journalist hiding in the bushes at the bottom of his garden, that ”The only way Andy will join West Ham on a permanent deal in the summer is if Big Sam is still the manager.”   You can tell it was told to a journalist because very few people in 'real life' refer to people by their size these days and to be honest Sam doesn't look especially big stood on the touchline in his expensive overcoat, the epithet is a hangover from his days as a centre forward munching centre half in hideously tight shorts and a moustache purchased from 'Porn Stars are us'.

Look out ladies - this is 'big' Sam

The Gold-Sullivan-Brady triumvirate who, after initial good deeds, seem to view West Ham as simply another cash cow but without the dirty pictures or sex aids, are waiting until the end of the season before making Sam an offer he can''t refuse. This is the sort of carrot-stick approach favoured by many companies with those in management and it has to be said it is full of merit but with a football team? Really? Football players are like small children but with bigger bank balances, they need security, unconditional love and two matches a week to feel wanted.

Muddying the waters further is the fact that Andy Carroll apparently believes he still has a future at Liverpool, presumably one that doesn't involve playing regularly as a footballer, and if that doesn't work out he is going to learn French and return to Newcastle.

Sam Allardyce set out the way he wanted to play from his first match in charge of West Ham last season, it was a style that would get us out of the Championship and to half way in the Premier League, the club can then build on that foundation. This is a manager who took Bolton from obscurity to the brink of Europe who signed players like Ivan Campo, Jay Jay Okocha and Youri Djorkaeff once he had the foundations in place. Anything above 18th place in the league come May will be a success, with the move to Stratford in two years time and the Under-21's and Under-18's doing well in their respective leagues the future is looking positive - all it needs now is for the board to completely screw things up.
