Judgement Day

Well after much huffing and puffing, toing and froing, advancing and retreating today is the day when the future of the practice was decided - hopefully. 

Having seemingly been miles apart in terms of asking price, contracts of employment etc a two and a half hour meeting this morning seems to have resulted in an agreement being reached and the proposed change over of ownership will be 1st May. The new owner has agreed that as the practice is run successfully by us at present without too much owner 'interference' then things may as well continue as they are - for now at least.

It's been an unsettling few weeks, the uncertainty has certainly had an impact on the overall sense of well being about the place, in fact it has felt a bit like being a footballer who has been told he is being transferred from one club to another without any say in the matter. The general feeling among the staff is that we would like at least one meeting to find out exactly what will be happening because at the moment it is very much like trying to put together a secondhand jigsaw puzzle without having the box as a guide.
