Go Lucy!
Anybody passing this blog, on route to something far more interesting, may recall my exchange of e-mails with the folk singer Lucy Ward nearly two years ago after receiving a copy of her debut album for Christmas. Anyway shortly afterwards Lucy started putting together a newsletter for her fans and this last week one duly arrived letting me know that she has been nominated for the BBC Folk Singer of The Year Award 2013 which I think is great given that she is just twenty three years old.
Anyway I sent an e-mail to Lucy congratulation her and such is her generosity of spirit that Lucy replied wishing me and my family a happy Christmas and New Year.
The video above is for the song 'Icarus' which is from her second album 'Single Flame' that was released in August. Lucy isn't a natural mimer (if that is indeed a word) but it is a cracking song.
very nice...but more to my taste is Icarus by flutlicht (yep, never grown up)
