Discharged

Finally after five months I was formally discharged from the care of the NHS yesterday morning for the post operation treatment on my neck. To say it was a relief would be something of an understatement, the twice a week trips to the nurse weren't the problem, simply having to wear a protective bandage on the back of my neck was the issue.

We had a 1990's style lunch at the office yesterday to celebrate, well me and the two ladies who were present and are both too young to remember most of the nineties let alone lunchtimes in that decade, we celebrated with a large bottle of something Spanish and fizzy. Showing true class and reflecting the lack of glasses in the office (my how times have changed) we had to drink from three coffee cups.

Having picked a 'neutral' (i.e empty) office for the drink none of us seemed to notice the lack of chairs and spent the hour and a bit chatting and drinking whilst standing - this stopped us falling asleep but also had the effect that the drink seemed to go straight to our legs and when we tried to walk back to our own offices to work it was as if we had been drinking one of those zombie cocktails which renders the lower half of your body useless. Honestly, we are such lightweights!
