Go Cav!

Cav won the Sports Personality of The Year Award for 2011, not bad considering it wasn't an Olympic year, who knows he might repeat the triumph next year. He's had a fantastic year in which he won two stages of the Giro, two stages of the Tour of Britain, five stages in the Tour (over a course that wasn't supposed to be suited to sprinters) and topped it all off with a memorable win at Copenhagen where he won the World Championships.

After receiving the award from Sir Bobby Charlton he was momentarily speechless during his acceptance speech but he thanked his team mates as you would expect, his wife, his unborn daughter and everybody who supported him.

Well done Cav.
