Result!

Received a cheque from the insurance company today in respect of my non-holiday in Paris back in July. Of course no amount of money can compensate for missing Froome Dogs win or the spectacular light show but these things do happen.

I was quite pleased with the doctors comments in reply to the insurance company question "Did you advise the patient not to travel?" He replied "I wasn't asked, but given the nature of the operation had I been asked then I would have advised against any travel on medical grounds."

It's the first time I have ever had to make a claim on any personal insurance policy and I hope I won't need to again but I'm still relived to get back my costs less a small excess charge.

  1. Nice one; it has only happened to me once as well and it was the only time I have ever been in possession of 500 Euro notes: the car hire people paid me in cash!
