Why are people so aggressive on Mondays? Not just at work, but on the road, in shops and especially on the 5Live boards. It's funny but you spend the best part of nine hours a day, five days a week with your colleagues and then from five on Friday until eight thirty on Monday morning you forget about them and all their strange ways.

All those office rituals, "Do anything nice at the weekend?" etc, what's worse when people arrive at different times, as they do in my office, between eightish and nineish, the whole thing is repeated so that members of staff can catch up on what they have missed. I don't mean to sound like Mr Grumpy but we should have a staff meeting at 8:45 and everybody should take it in turns to tell everybody at once about their weekend, get it out of the way.

I like Monday's it's just hearing about the weekends ad nausem I find annoying.

Anyway, you should have seen Chocolate teapots face this morning, it was almost touching. He came in and said 'Have you been watching any of the World Cup games that don't feature England?"
"Yes," I said, "I've seen all the games at the two weekends and all the five and eight p.m kick-offs during the week - thing is I missed the Japan second half yesterday because I was asleep on account of too much Bucks Fizz for breakfast."
"Why? What was so special about yesterday?"
"Duh! Father's day."
"Oh, I'm a bit out of touch," he replied and left. Seems like his 'wonderful' son forgot.
Part of me felt a little sympathy but then I remembered what a complete wanker he is.
