Personally, I Blame Zinedine Zidane

It's only been a fortnight since the World Cup Final but frustrated DIY'ers are already using the headbutt as a way of breaking house tiles that dare to insult their mothers or sisters.

Actually this is from the annual 2RiversMeet open day in Christchurch when the sports centre throws open its doors to the public, let's them try whatever activities are covered by the council's public liability insurance and puts on some demonstration events. The demonstration events include kayaking, archery and karate by the club that Nathalie belongs to, the picture above is of John, one of the teachers, showing what to do should a potentially ugly scene develop when confronted with a pile of slates.

The picture below is part of Nathalie's group's demo, it was five years ago at a similar open day that she became interested in Karate (which apparently means open palm), now she is part of the black belt training group and has persevered when at times it looked as if she might call it a day - well done Nats.

Blimey your little girl's going to be a black belt. Good on her. You must be extremely proud and also slightly scared.

Very proud. They'll come a point when she won't take no for answer for something and throw me over her shoulder!
