Okay, I know it's not trendy to slap the back of the big corporations but here goes.
Texaco ran a World Cup promotion this summer from May until the day of the Final, just over a week ago. Everytime you purchased £10 worth of petrol you were given a plastic button type thing with one of England's World Cup squad (plus Sven) on it and for £1.49 you could buy a collectors fold-out booklet to display them in.
Well come the last day of the promotion/competition Nathalie still needed three or four players and she had some who hadn't made the squad but were still listed on the back of the fold-out booklet. I bought £40 of petrol, handed my cash over and said to the guy on the till "do you have any of the players left?"
"Sure," he replied, "who do you need? It's just that, because it's finishing, we've opened up all the packets and we've actually got some new ones in, because nobody thought Scott Carson, Theo Walcott or Owen Hargreaves would be in the squad."
You should have seen Nathalie's face - priceless.

Ok Paul(I think I am right)I have hi jacked your post to say if its ok with you I have linked to your blog.
I have had a quick read through all that I am able tonight and like what you say ;-)
I also have some connection in that when you talk of Sandbanks, Bournemouth and all around that area I spent practically every year of my life(except the last 10 due to illness)walking around those areas and having at least two holidays per year in the area, even long weekends. My parents did as well for many many years before I was thought of.
I hope that I will again...one day.
Lol, we have 6 of those knocking around the house, I have to explain to Eben who each of them are every ime he picks them up.
