A charity appeal set up for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance in the wake of the high-speed car crash involving the Hamster has fallen victim to an apparent hoax. The charity, which relies solely on donations to keep its helicopter in the air, is hoping to raise 500,000 pounds to pay for a second aircraft, but the total reached on donations Web site justgiving.com has now fallen after one single gift of 50,000 pounds was declined by the donor's bank.
I mean what kind of heartless, publicity seeking moron do you have to be to make a huge donation that you know you cannot honour? Apparently the cheque has bounced twice and the charity have given up hope.
It's a mad, sad world.

Good to see that someone else has stepped in with another 50k now though.
Paul your comment total is stuck and Shy talks is not working.
Have you changed to beta too?
Not as far as I know Lucy
Someone on the teletext said that they had no sympathy for him. Ok it was reckless but I think its heartless not to wish him to get as fit as possible and be able to possible learn from the experience.
Mum doesn't know much of what he does on television and I still stand by the entry you made earlier and mine about whether you can class Richard as a celeb.
But he does seem a likable chap and Mum has realised that.
Its sad that it takes such an event to raise money for the air ambulance service but hey, there are so many worthy causes in need of money. We all have a favourite. We cannot give to every cause.
At least good came out of the tragedy.
Someone else on the radio today mentioned about a NHS hospital being used initially and now he's been transported to a private one and that it is a disgrace. That his family should donate to the cause etc...
But how does anyone know that they haven't already? Or that they will when he's well again? He may've been looked after in an NHS hospital but how does anyone know that it will not be compensated when the paper work goes through and if he is now in private care its freed space in the NHS hospital for someone else.
The media can be so cruel.
It is a horrible thing to hoax these kind of appeals but the last I saw I think the fund was around £250,000.
