This is from the 1871 census, the houses are in Holloway Road, Islington. The eleventh name down from the top is Mary A Guyatt, my great, great grandmother who was working as a servant shortly before getting married, two names above Mary and also working at a servant in the same house (No.214) is David Beckham!

Fame at last!
I have one for the sister of my Great Grandfather who is resident as a domestic servant of the Cadbury's. That's about the best I can do apart from lots of other domestic servants in the homes of long forgotten Lords and Ladies.
That's interesting though isn't it - what surprises me is how young the servants were, I've seen some as young as 14 - still this was Victorian England.
