I Hope They've Got The Right Man


















There is something very sad about the violent death of Angelika Kluk. The coming together in a Glasgow church of a 23 year old from Poland and a sixty year old odd-job man of no fixed abode sounds like a story from a Victorian penny dreadful.

Miss Kluk's body was discovered beneath the floorboards of St Patrick's Church in Anderston, Glasgow on 29 September four days after she had failed to turn up for her cleaning job. She had been in Glasgow since the summer and was due to fly home to Gdansk this week to begin her University course.

The victim of what Detectives have described as a "horrific and very, very violent death," she had come to Scotland to earn money cleaning so that she could support herself in a way all of us who have been students or know students would recognise. Having looked at Scandanavia and Scotland she choose Scotland because she liked the look of the scenery and wanted to explore it during her freetime.

Angelika has been described by the head of her department at Gdasnk as being a "highly promising student, extremely intelligent, very popular and a nice, kind, religious person".

It was such a sad end to a young life.
