Condemnation from Chelsea Would Be Nice

It would be a good public relations exercise if Chelsea came out and nipped this one in the bud rather than wait for a head of steam to develop in the way it did over the Anders Frisk farce two years ago. I'm not condemning Chelsea Football Club in anyway but the wider picture needs to be looked at here and they need to distance themselves from the type of 'supporter' who gets his or her kicks out of writing/posting death threats to opposition players or referees.

Okay, Anders Frisk may not have been everybody's cup of tea but U.E.F.A lost one of its best referees all because of an unsubstantiated rumour and threatening two Reading players because of the injuries to Cech and Cudicini doesn't do the image of the game any favours.

Don't worry Sarnia it wasn't done to wind you up!

It could be anyone but after the Frisk affair I think CFC should issue a statement saying any fan found guilty of an offence connected with death threats will be banned for life (mind you they will probably be locked up) - as should every other club.

My wife and I were once the subject of a death threat. A former boyfriend of hers obviously didn't like the fact she'd found someone else (i.e. me) and lost the plot.

Of course, nothing ever came of it (it happened 24 years ago) but it wasn't nice at the time.
