I Have Been To The Edge

I was overtired last night, you know the moment when your brain won't let your body switch off. I tried reading, Janis has just bought me the new Joe Strummer biography and I'm working through it's 600+ pages, but couldn't concentrate. I tried some music but got bored after a couple of tracks so I turned to the opiate of the masses: television.

Oh dear. I have been to the edge brothers and sisters and I have peered into the abyss. Fortunately I stepped back before vertigo and a sense of the absurd combined to send me into the black void.

BBC3, Sunday 5th November 2006, 10:30 p.m (ish) - Celebrity Scissorhands.

Oh yes, roll up, roll up Ladies and Germs to watch half a dozen 'celebrities' train how to be hairdressers.

Now the fun to be had here is recognising the so-called celebs (as per usual). Okay, we had Steve Strange, who as far as I know has not been a celeb since he stepped out of Visage and into re-hab back in 1981, the lead singer from Right Said Fred, who I think stopped having hits around 1991, the one from the Girlie Show who isn't Sara Cox or the annoying American, Scott Mills (R1 DJ), Darren Day (the last thing he did that I noticed was fall out with Anna Friel about five years ago) and Michelle Dewberry (Alan Sugar's ex-Apprentice) an one other.

I watched for five minutes in the same way you might look at car crash as you passed it. If I could have stayed out of a coma until 11 p.m I could have watched Celebrity Scissorhands:Uncut - more of the same but with all the crap bits left in!

Anything for publicity...I saw that programme in the listings of the Radio Times and thought much as you.

Interesting that Scott Mills a long time critic of Quiz Mania and a particular presenter on there Greg Scott will soon forget that he looks no better taking part in this rubbish but will no doubt protest that this is different because its "For Charity!"
