Squirrel Gets A Reprieve

Had a chat with the bossman and told him that implementing the new paperless office system was, in my humble opinion, not possible until after 31st January 2007. He wasn't happy about it, the sooner he gets to fire Squirrel out of the circus cannon the better as far as he is concerned, but I said that we were coming up to the most hectic part of the year when all the stragglers tax returns have to be completed and filed and at the moment we need to file about 20 a week to meet the deadline for all clients.

He agreed and said on balance, despite his enthusiasm, we should wait. Woo Ho!

Any way Squirrel has got off her arse, as she puts it, and has registered with several agencies on her own accord and so fingers crossed she'll go before she's pushed. I know she wants to leave but getting the push will put her self-confidence back years. I keep encouraging her to look in the papers or on the net, partly because I feel guilty as I've said before, but also because I want her to go under her own steam.

Anyway, appraisals week wasn't a big success - I was the only one! My boss told one of my colleagues that I'd given him such a hard time he felt he was being appraised and not me! Up the workers!

I've yet to come across anyone who really likes appraisals. Still, at least you get stop working for an hour so!!

I'm glad Squirrel didn't get the push. You're right, it does do your self confidence in.
