Yes I Know It's Only Vanity

If I have to access my blog when I'm at work I use a tried and trusted (i.e not very imaginative) route, I type my URL into google and follow the trail. It's interesting to see what other cross-references appear, there's always some reference to my page from Gavin for some reason - usually the one about kids polishing my head but this week I found that I was appearing on a site dedicated to wheely bins!

Back in the summer I posted a picture of Upton Park outside of which stood four wheely bins painted claret and blue and I put the caption "Home is where the wheely bins wear your colours." By some bizarre force of nature the fact that I'd used the expression 'wheely bins' led to my posting being picked up.

Spooky or what?

Where I work, there's a hardware firewall and all sorts of filters to stop us accessing "objectionable material". Sometimes I don't have a clue why it's blocked a particular site. The worst thing is the "Thought Police" log all of our computer activity but with 17,000 people to snoop on they only catch the worst offenders. (Thank goodness!)

When we upgraded our server we had the option of including an administration spy but turned it down. Last thing I want to do is spend hours spying on people.
