Home Office Refit (Part 2)

As if yesterday wasn't exciting enough (?), today saw another five hours of organising, moving, dumping cardboard at the recycling point.

By the end of it Janis and I could hardly move, in fact at one point I didn't think I'd be able to lift arms above my shoulders again.

It was all over by six o'clock and called for a small celebration - so we sent out for Chinese.

Sailing on the good ship Texaco

After the cardboard dump I went down the petrol station. After I'd finished putting the petrol in the car I walked into the forecourt shop to wait in line behind four people before paying.

"Sorry about the wait."
"That's okay."
"Pump 3?"
"Yes thanks."
"Funny thing is this morning it was like the Marie Celeste in here."
"Well I would have had a longer wait then."
"Sorry?"
"Marie Celeste - ten people including crew, there were only four in the queue."
"I meant after they vanished."
"Well the petrol station would have been closed wouldn't it - assuming that using the ship as a metaphor means you are the Captain and therefore you wouldn't be here."
"Twenty five pounds and a penny please."
