I heard the first mating calls of the year at 6 a.m this morning, exactly a year to the day since the frog started calling for a mate last year. Although the garden could do with a cold snap, as there appear to be too many bugs around at the moment, this would kill off any tadpoles before they have had the chance to develop - as happened last year.
On the bulb front I have the grand total of six daffodils making there way above ground, I read in the paper yesterday that daffodils have been out in the centre of Cardiff since the first week of December. It's all down to global warming apparently, the same reason that Snowdon will be without snow within 10 years - ironic really after years of wanting a visitor's centre at the top when one gets built there's no snow to see. I remember going up Snowdon when I was about ten or eleven, when you got to the top there was this pathetic attempt at a cafe, people sat around drinking from flasks and eating home-made sandwiches without a word of a grumble - so British.
Snowdon. One day (soon) all the snow will be gone forever

Paul, when we were nearby last April, Snowdon still had a decent covering of snow. It looked beautiful as it always does.
My aunt was rescued off the lower slopes following a fall there just before Christmas, helicopters, mountain rescue everything. She ended up in Bangor hospital and no, she said she didn't have a lovely time the day she went to Bangor! I'll blog about it soon.
