He's At It Again

On the left is Arsenal's manager Arsene Wenger and on the right the short sighted Mr Magoo.

Everybody knows Mr Magoo, always mistaking the truth for lies and vice verse due to his myopic condition. Never seeing anything further than the end of his nose unless of course he feels that his team is the victim of an injustice, in which case he suddenly develops the eye sight of a bird of prey.

Do you know only today Mr Magoo was accusing the French national manager for the injury that will keep Thierry Henry out of action for the next five months. That's right, not his assistant Pat Rice or his physio Gary Lewin or even himself for playing Thierry Henry whilst still not 100% fit in the game against PSV. No not himself, that would be ridiculous for Mr Wenger to actually accept some responsibility in life. The fault lies at the door of the French national coach who picked Henry for a friendly in Bosnia in August last year.

Wenger has travelled through parody and pathos and is on the motorway to Loonyville. We've grown accustomed over the last ten years or so to the "I did not see anything," rants - except when it involves Martin Jol, Frank Lampard or Michael Carrick in which case Wenger can spot a misdemeanour at a hundred yards but blaming another coach for an injury eight months ago takes the biscuit.
