Thirteen Today
Nathalie is 13 today and it seems as she gets older that in addition to getting more, how can I put this, assertive, she's also showing signs of coming out of her shell. It's been a long hard road following nearly two years of bullying both at school and scouts and to be honest she was turning into the sort of child who would rather spend all weekend in her room rather than socialising such was the dent to her confidence. Anyway things are on the up, she's just had a good school report and she's been made second in command of her scout pack.
Tonight we're going out to an Italian restaurant in Christchurch taking one of her friends with us, on Friday she's having a party and a sleepover - I'm off to London for four days.
Happy birthday Nats- I know you won't read this but hey there you go!

And a belated happy birthday from me to Nathalie.....I'm sure this blog entry wasn't here when I looked yesterday!
It sounds as though my son and Nathalie have a lot in common. He is 13 at the end of June and often spends the whole weekend in his bedroom rather than socialise, if I let him that is.
They half kill you with worry these children, don't they?
You were right about the entry not being on here before - I had written it but forgot to post it due to being out Wednesday and then away.
We are not going to let Nathalie stay in her room in her jimmies either - mind you this seems to be quite common among her friends at the moment as well.
You are right about worrying, I don't want her to get into a rut staying in all the time but equally I don't want to nag her every day to do something!
