POV Board

Having paid a return visit to the 5Live board is a bit like visiting an old school friend you haven't seen for years only to discover they still wear the old uniform - it's shocking and depressing. It's still controlled by the far right militia bleating on and on about the same issues day in day out ad nauseum, I suppose the fact that the extreme right has taken over the boards sort of balances out the left taking over the country! There are still the odd threads that use the feeblest excuse to venture off topic, it's always the usual suspects - just look at the thread about predictive text as example.

Seeing as there was nothing worth commenting on I ventured over to the POV board and saw that the Jacqui Oatley thread has over 560 postings. Further investigation showed that very few of these had anything to do with either football, television or football on television. Is anybody (i.e moderators or hosts) keeping an eye on the Points Of View board because it seems that anything goes - it's worse than the Station board was at its nadir - dozens of posts that had nothing to do with the station or the BBC and contained mostly innuendo - I should know I was a culprit!

Next, I tried the Radio 2 board and although the threads follow a pretty predictable course it's good to see some good humoured banter going on with most of the threads keeping to subject.

Back to 5Live and a thread had started about Take That playing the Diana Princess of Hearts gig - it gets to about 17 posts (of which I have contributed 3) and is pulled by Alex for being off topic!
