World's Campest Statue?

I can actually remember the day Charles De Gaulle died, I was about 10 and our French teacher Mrs Braddock announced to the class "Charles De Gaulle est mort. We had to wear cards on bits of string around our necks in French lessons with a Gaelic name written on them - mine was Henri. Anyway, this statue that is situated half way up the Champs Elysees has to be the campest monument to a national hero ever - doesn't it?
