I know, it's not big and it's not clever

I don't know why but I felt a sense of excitement and satisfcation as South Africa failed to reach 126 in the final Super Eight match against India and thereby failed to make the sem-finals. There's something deeply unhealthy about South African sportsman, the little asides to their coloured opposition, the arrogrance in their demeanour, they behave as if they think they are the southern hemisphere's version of the Aryan master race.

I know 20/20 isn't proper cricket, it's sports equivalent of a Big Mac, you wouldn't want it all the time but once in a while won't do you any harm, but unlike the 50 over version of the World Cup it doesn't last from one equinox to another. The whole thing from Chris Gayles first six to the final on Sunday lasting less than three weeks. It also fits neatly into the television schedule, many times over the past fortnight I've come home from work and been able to watch one innings either side of tea (or dinner if you say serviettes instead of napkins).
