What a fantastic game of rugby. France 12 Argentina 17 at the Stade de France and the hosts lost their opening game for the third time in Rugby World Cup history. The Pumas defence was just superb. mind you having beaten the French four times in the last five meetings even Stevie Wonder could have seen some of the French attacking moves coming.
The "Bourgeois Shits" as the Stade De France were famously referred to by the previous French coach took about thirty five minutes to get restless and then could only watch in a mixture of disbelief and horror as the men in dark blue contrived to lose the initiative. Despite my natural inclination to support the French I was hoping that Argentina wouldn't be punished for one of the more extraordinary last minute misses I've seen in Rugby Union for a long time. I can only assume that the Argentine full back was knackered because his kick travelled the distance of a golf putt.
The other winners of course were New Zealand who must be relishing the chance of a match-up against France or Ireland in the Quarter Finals.

...you could at least have used a differnet photo to me! I wa sgood wasn't it. My post (almost immediately after the game) leans more to the mistreatment of Argentina by the old farts and I really hope they go on to the semis at least...mind you they're still not certain of going through...time will tell.

It was a good game, France just seemed to freeze, Argentina won't play any better according to Campo on the radio this morning.
