Great news indeed. I was always an athletics person in the long non-rugby summers of yesteryear- and a sprinter...non of that cricket nonsense ;-)
...in fact up when I ran my PB it was only 0.02 slower than the world record at that time...
...the women's world record that is! It was 10.88 and I ran 10.9...mind you I was in the army then and so f***king fit it scares me to remember it!!!!
I nearly posted re Powell but remembered the last time I crowed loudly about a new 100m WR was Ben Johnson :-(
Wow I'm seriously impressed Span.
Talking about the Forces I remember when a fitness instructor from the RAF came to take us for sprint training, it was like watching Roadrunner he was so fast!
Wasn't Theo Walcott's dad a sprinter in the R.A.F?
I'm sure I heard that during all the media frenzy just after he picked to play for England. (Theo Walcott, that is, not his dad!)
I would have liked to see Span in the role of grease lightening!
