Well Bugger Me

There are many ways you can win a Rugby match but essentially it comes down to who has the most points on the board after eighty minutes and in Marseille at just after 3:40 this afternoon it was England who had 12 and Australia who had 10 so the World Cup holders are through to the semi finals where they will meet either the favourites New Zealand or the French hosts.

England weren't lucky, the didn't play ugly and they didn't play expansive, they just played to their strengths and apart from a few scary moments they seemed to have the game under control for all but a twenty minute period either side of half time. As a contest it was engrossing, I didn't even look at the on screen clock until 65 minutes, it was like watching two footballing cultures collide.

England can go forward and believe that they will win it now, I didn't even believe they would win this, see how wrong I was!

that would be this afternoons match ;-)

I'll still pretty breathless, I actually think i was holding my breath for half of the game. Thought we were good overall and deserved the win...how many games to Australia play, especially one's this important, without scoring in one half?
