Cheat!

Once again Alan Green on 5Live shows his true colours. Whilst the rest of the media, everybody inside Anfield and millions at home could see that Steven Gerrard cheated to win the penalty that saved Liverpool's blushes against Atletico Madrid, Greenie could only mumble, "Well sometimes you get soft penalties and that was a soft one."

Not soft - it was squashed! Outrageous. You can't just ignore it and say everybody does it, this is the Liverpool captain, a possible England captain at one time - falling down as if somebody at the Anfield Road end had picked him out in the cross hairs of an SAS rifle.

Let's just hope that should a player fall over whilst playing against Liverpool between now and May and the resulting penalty denies Liverpool an honour Greenie will be there to mumble, "well sometimes you get........"

My take on it is that the ref missed an earlier penalty for handball and so, almost by way of making up for it, gave a penalty to Liverpool after two players had accidentally collided going for the ball.

I ought to point I don't like Gerrard: he's arrogant with an occassional dirty streak which, in my mind, is sufficient to keep him out of the England captaincy.

Watched highlights in Medellin (good old ESPN) ....yep...no penalty of course I saw or heard no comments about it! I hate cheats....even Arsenal ones - just to show I'm fair ;-)

P.S...back in Spain...as an aside...if Fulham hold their lead 1 goal lead (game just finishing) they will jump 9 places in the Premiership!! 11 (ELEVEN!!) clubs will be within 3 points of each other...early days yet but the relegation 'danger' zone just got bigger!

We are in free fall!

As you are back in Spain did you see Barca last night? How good was that? If only they could play 90 minutes straight off they'd be getting cricket scores!

didn't see any games...just watching premiership highlights! great 2nd from Nasri and Ronaldo missing a sitter :-)

Top 4 or 5 here looking good. Villareal is the real story holding up a couple of great seasons.

I'm glad TH14 is feeling a bit more at home in Barça this year, he gets loads of stick from the fickle fans here.

P.S. I hope lazybones Adebayor has noted that win without him strolling around i.e. with 11 players actually playing they can win...Ok...I'll give him a break if he gets another couple of hatricks :-)
