In The Studio

This is Hayley. This was my first ever time in a proper studio: lights, soft boxes, umbrellas, coloured gels, fluffy carpets - the lot, oh and of course Hayley. From a practical point of view it would be silly if she went out on the Suzuki dressed like this, she'd get arrested for not wearing a helmet. From a photographic point of view it's not brilliant because I've cropped out all of the front wheel - still you learn from experience.
I managed to shoot around a hundred a fifty pictures of the young lady in various states of undress, no nudes or topless though, and it was brilliant. The weird thing was that I had absolutely no idea how I wanted her to pose and so to begin with the session was a bit like Harpo Marx and a model, except I didn't have Harpo's horn - ooer missus!
Anyway to give you the full story this was a photographic workshop in Southampton, the first in a series this summer. Having spent every Saturday of the last two and a bit months walking the coast of Dorset taking landscape photographs, pictures of beach huts and beach debris I wanted to try some studio work. I checked out the local papers and the two digital camera magazines I subscribe to and found a professional photographer based in Southampton who runs one workshop a month they are on a variety of subjects. I had a great time, met some interesting people and took some decent photographs. The next workshop in April involves a theatre group and will be a different sort of challenge.

Hayley Davidson? 'Babe mounted on a powerful black throbber'
Sorry, totally uncalled for. Well done.
I've never done any professional photography but used to do a lot as a hobby, even had several cameras and a collection of lenses plus filters and whatsits and doodahs (ok, OK!).
Excellent - I hadn't even though of Haley Davidson, doh!
There's not much you can say to a man with a collection of whatsits and doodahs - apart from "you're nicked!"
