Sign Of The Times

No, this isn't an excuse to run a photograph of the boy-wonder but a short post to further illustrate the decline of British industry. About four or five years ago I purchased an FCB shirt online from the club shop, I ordered it at 10 p.m on the Friday and it arrived the next day by UPS - to say I was impressed would be an understatement. What made me laugh however was the label inside which, beneath the Spanish writing, proclaimed 'Made in Leeds England'.

Tomorrow is Nathalie's fifteenth birthday and as a last minute idea I decided she should have a Barca shirt as well, I couldn't afford Messi's actual shirt, although I have promised Janis that if she, Nathalie, does well in her exams I will bid for one of his original shirts. There is a site, the company ironically is based in Christchurch, which sells authenticated football merchandise. Anyway rather than go online I went to our local branch of JB Sports and purchased a home shirt, getting it home I showed Janis the label and the writing in Spanish, just as it was when I got mine sans UNICEF logo, and there beneath the Spanish words was 'Made in Thailand.' What can I say?

hahaha...very ironic but also very impressive delivery from los catalanes. I bet Messi wants to forget the Bolivia game (just watching them vs Valladolid, after the pitch I saw at the Emitrates this afternoon (on local TV!) it looks like they're palying on a cow field.

I can't believe that Argentina refused to train in Bolivia before the game. Apparently when the Bolivians saw the Argie goalkeeper warming up they had problems not laughing!
