Five Match Ban For Throwing A Bottle

Jose Paolo Guerrero has been banned for five matches for throwing a bottle at a fan after last Sunday's match with Hannover. Guerrero was also fined 20,000 Euros by the German FA in addition to the 100,000 Euros he was fined by his club. Guerrero apparently took exception to some abuse he was getting from the fan he hit.

The incident was replayed on German TV during my stay almost as much as Lionel Messi's four goals against Arsenal and prompted almost as much debate. The feeling in Germany was that Guerrero would get a similar ban to the one that Eric Cantona received from his infamous karate kick at Selhurst Park. The German FA have obviously decided that a ban to the end of the season is enough of a punishment.

hey, you're back early!

Great throw! he even wants more as he tries to go towards the stand.

That Cantona incident...hehehe, remember it well. Stunning really.

Messi vs Arsenal, well what can you say. Anybody's game but for the Flea!

From what I could understand on German TV he wasn't that sorry but the club have stood by him because he scores a lot of goals for them.
