How does this help exactly?

Joey Barton is a footballer with a lot going for him in terms of talent but he's become obsessed with Twitter to such an extent that it has resulted in him being given the old heave-ho by Newcastle United. The matter of the 'free transfer' is something that seems to have split Newcastle fans down the middle but the idea of getting rid of a member of staff who spends a lot of his spare time criticising his employers was good enough for Roy Keane so I suggest it's good enough for Barton.

What I find hard to understand though is his comments about Alan Shearer. Shearer is the most bland of BBC's bland team of experts but he is paid for his opinions about Barton's footballing performance and gave it. Barton has responded, via his Twitter page, as follows: "Bad shirt, shoes and views from Shearer again. Sort it out slaphead..."

Respect eh!

For me, all this does is to give evidence in favour of the argument that Barton is an idiot.

Agreed.

Nice to see too that on the 1st day of teh Premiership Arsenal have already been robbed of 2 points and have the new 'hope' red-carded and so probably out for Liverpool and Man United games...

Well, we're all agreed on that one, then!
