Two For Two!

Not only does Cesc have more hair but he now has two medals after two subs appearances. Okay so last week may have been the Spanish Community Shield and this week was the European Community Shield but hey, he never got the chance whilst at Arsenal to compete for the rewards for the previous seasons success.

Porto were the better side for a long period, possibly due to them having played two Primera Liga matches already but they missed some early chances and gifted Lionel Messi a goal with the misguided backpass of the season so far. Late in the second half Porto were reduced to nine men but Cesc had already given them a 2-0 winning scoreline by then.

The Champions League draw took place on Thursday and watching it live on the UEFA site was one of thos never to be repeated surreal moments of my life. Anyway all the usual suspects were given easy rides, don't they always, with Real Madrid being drawn yet again with Ajax and Lyon, they really should get a room those three. Arsenal have what look like a decent draw and I will actually be looking forward to the games with Borussia Dortmund as I watched nearly all their games last season and for my money they were the second most exciting side in Europe.

As for West Ham's start to the season well it was a sense of deja vu all over again watching them play Leeds last weekend and this seasons Aunty Sally could well be Herita Ilunga who has cost us six points (against Cardiff and Leeds) simply by not been able to tackle which for me is the least you expect from a full back.

A (very poor) prediction: Cesc at Arsenal wins two trophies right at the end of a wonderful and historic winning streak of cups and leagues.

Cesc at Barcelona wins two trophies right at the end of a wonderful and historic winning streak...

Very good. Villareal on Monday night should be a good match, Barcelona are usually slow to start the season.

They were slow starting against Porto and look how that ended up!

That backpass was dreadful, wasn't it? Easily on a par with Kompany's howler in our Charity Shield.
