We all love Baseball
One of the stranger side effects of this past weeks rioting has been the sudden interest in the game of baseball. Amazon have reported that sales of baseball bats have increased by more than 5,000% and that seven of the top ten places in their sports chart are occupied by various types of bat - I'm pretty sure that those foam ones that are only good for hitting your buddy over the head in the manner of a cartoon character aren't on the list.
Just remember though that you don't get an action figure with the bats as shown above, and that's not just because Barry Bonds is a bad ass dude who was found guilty of obstruction in April this year (that's a legal term by the way, not something you do to the fielder at second base) but because it would put up the p & p to ridiculous levels.

This shows how much influence the USA has in our society today. When I was a boy, people would've been buying cricket bats and wielding bike chains to protect their family and property. Now, it seems, the traditional methods of self defence (spelt with an 'c', of course) are shunned in favour of transatlantic things.
Where will it all end?
I was watching something the other night Shy and somebody was carrying a chain - much scarier than a baseball bat - although it's all relative of course.
LOL!
What about hockey sticks? snooker balls (in a sock)? etc. However, nice that the youth are getting more sports opportunities.
Indeed - running, jumping, throwing - it's as if the Olympics were just around the corner.
