Way to go Brad!

Having a couple of days off work due to sinus problems isn't a whole heap of fun but watching Bradley Wiggins this afternoon competing in the World Road Championships in Copenhagen did relieve the boredom some what.

Wiggins was fantastic and would have won the Gold Medal but for Tony Martin riding the time trial of his life on what appeared to be Germany's first nuclear powered bicycle. I've never seen a major time trial where the gap between first and second place was as great as one minute and fifteen seconds, when Tony Martin won the time trial at Grenoble in this years TDF he was only seven seconds ahead of Cadel Evans.  Fabian Cancellera, the defending champion, was in a position to challenge Brad for second place for most of the course but his bike developed a disliking for corners in the last couple of miles and he actually stopped at one point his left arm of a barrier preventing him fallen off his machine.

David Millar finished a very respectable seventh. One of the amusing interludes of the event was the sitting on the podium of the top three riders as they crossed the line throughout the event, this meant that for most of the two hours it was televised you had riders who weren't going to finish anywhere near a medal and then in the last twenty minutes it became a game of musical chairs.
