Yeah, but no but, yeah but

I witnessed road rage at close quarters yesterday, it was directed at me. The funny thing though was that my instant reaction was to aplogise even though I wasn't the one in the wrong! Coming out of Salisbury on the A36 I was hooted at by a twenty something who was waving his fist at me and his face all contorted with anger because I had moved from the middle lane to the inside lane as there was nothing on the inside lane. The bizarre thing though was that he shouldn't have been there in the first place because to get there he had to illegally drive across the lines and zig zags that took the lane he was driving in off the road I was on, he should have filtered left.

I looked in the mirror saw his fist and fury and simply raised an apologetic hand, Janis looked at him in the wing mirror and said, "Oh get over yourself." I'm pretty sure that if I hadn't been driving behind a police car at the time he would have accelerated alongside me just to show off to his girlfriend/wife/significant other.

I was relaxed about the whole thing but afterwards couldn't help reflecting on the fact that he was in the wrong to begin with and that I had apologised to him.

Be careful...sometimes the idiots get out of the car...and have knives. No personal experience but have seen some really dumb fucks on the road.

Yes, there are some nutters on the road.

Better to have your pride hurt than to get in a fight.

One of my sister in laws has a stepbrother who was stabbed in the street in South London during the summer after a road rage incident, I'd actually forgotten about that until you mentioned knives Span.

I agree Shy - on both counts.
