You know for years how a certain airline was econmical with the truth regarding its adverts: fly to Paris for £39, well actually it's not Paris it's Beauvais which is about 55 miles away well cruise companies are no different. Whilst there was a break between Manchester clubs beating North London clubs this afternoon, I switched over to the Travel Channel and there was a puff piece for a 'Celebrity Cruise' aboard some enormoship from Southampton to St.Petersburg.
What grabbed my attention was the itinerary:
1. You sail from Southampton and the first port is Bruges.
2. Day Two is spent at sea and you sail to Travemunde for Berlin
Excuse me? Travemunde for Berlin? Travemunde is 180 miles north east of Berlin, it's the port for Lubeck and as I well know it's at least five hours away by car let alone by coach. How do they get away with this? It's the equivalent to the distance between Nottingham and Southampton, Sunderland to Irvine on the west coast of Scotland.

hehehe...the same airline used to fly to "Barcelona", now I think they really do fly to Barcelona and not 80 minutes north or south. Mind you it's just the same as "London" Stansted and "London" Luton as well as the massive and growing "London" Gatwick! :-)
I agree about Luton and Stansted, mind you I was reading last week that there had been plans to expand Oxford's little airport at some stage and call that 'London Oxford'.
