Where is Andrew Mitchell when he's needed?

Some stories leave you scratching and/or shaking your head in disbelief.  What sort of police force do we have in this country that employs people who can't tell the difference between a samurai sword and a white stick?

PMQ's was fun today wasn't it with Ed Miliband still trying to make political capital out of what Andrew Mitchell did or didn't say at the entrance to Downing Street. I loved it when Ed said, "If somebody out on a Saturday night had used that sort of language they would find themselves in the back of a police car." Presumably only because they were so stupid as to have forgotten where the front of the car was. Let's be honest, beyond the refined world of London media and politics you wouldn't have to throw a stick very far to find somebody who hasn't been on the receiving end of abuse from a serving police officer.

And where do we get off in this country still believing that a serving police officer should be believed?

Believed when it's convenient!

Re this whole imbroglio I was amused (and contributed as such to B-BBC thread) that this was wall to wall over all the media for a week or more (and is still going on) and on the news I saw (BBC) had 8 minutes coverage with videos and interviews (most scandalous was the police union twat) whilst Vaz fraud barely got a mention, multiple gang rape and abuse by Muslim gangs got minor (yes when you compare)coverage and the Savile hoohah was trying it's best to go away (since exploded)

Watching Sky and BBC coverage of Saville has been hilarious, Sky have been running every additional story as their lead whilst as you say BBC have been letting it slip away.

Watching public reaction is interesting, seeing how far some messageboards will let things go. I know one board that is now closed on the subject. HIGNFY was even attacked last week but it was in a Catch-22 situation, it's not comedy but it is news.

I think HIGNFY was savaged because it was a blatant (and disgraceful some say) attempt at deflection and blaming everyone else including the DM and Thatcher!

The funny thing about the DM/Thatcher comments is that they first came up in Sky's newspaper review the week before and Paul Merton was repeating them.
