A little overkill perhaps?

I see that there are to be thirty officers involved in the 'plebgate' probe, presumably that's one to ask the questions, one to write down the answers and twenty eight to keep an eye on the two intellectuals.

If I'm not mistaken there was also a seemingly high number of officers involved when Eric Cantona did his kung fu kick on that fan.

LOL, it sounds a lot doesn't it but I guess if there are 10 to 15 on No. 10 duty and different squads and the fact that some of the off-duty will be being investigated and taking into account inter-dept rivalry etc so no doubt external groups being bought in it all adds up!

What I find slightly troubling is that David Cameron apparently knew at the time what had happened but didn't want to upset anybody responsible for security at No.10

For me, it's all about honesty. We don't really expect too much of it from, say, used car sales people or estate agents but it is there are some professions which we depend upon greatly in which honesty is essential.

Sadly, such professions as politics and the police appear to be going the same way as the two I've already mentioned and I think it bodes very badly for society.
