Ah, those clever Turks
Fenerbahce were ordered by UEFA to play their Europa League match on Thursday night against BATE because of incidents involving flares and fireworks during an earlier round. In a move designed to avoid any trouble the club put up a giant 157 foot LED screen outside the ground and let the spectators party during the home sides 1-0 win.
The home fans showed some ingenuity however by attaching flares to parachutes and firing them over the stands of the Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium causing the match to be stopped as the flares descended slowly onto the pitch, dugouts and stands.
(worth enlarging the photograph just to enjoy the spectacle)

Hpw did they fire them over the stands?
I wondered that as well, perhaps they fired them into the air with flare guns.
