As part of the EU's football supporter exchange programme, and in keeping with the UK's current immigration policy, I will be travelling to Germany tomorrow, as 80,000 Germans come the other way.
My original plans have been changed, again, and rather than do things the simple way i.e fly in a straight line, I will be flying from Southampton to Manchester and then Manchester to Dusseldorf before taking the train to Cologne for a week beside the Rhine. I'm looking forward to, amongst a diet of culture and good German cooking, watching the Champions League final between two German teams in a German bar.
