In the spirit of the age, where it seems that anybody involved in light entertainment during the early 1970's was implicated in various police investigations, I wish you a Happy Christmas with a picture of Father Christmas alongside a smiling character wearing a Onesie and platform shoes. No wonder children prefer staying in these days!

More than ever this year I am coming round to the realisation that really the Devil has won: of course first there's the pagan festivals including Saturnalia in which the main ways of occupying their time was to eat too much, drink too much, spend too much etc. Maybe Oliver Cromwell was onto something.
I hadn't noticed that before.
Yes - the devil has won. Could have supported Cromwell if it hadn't been for Ireland which was sheer spite (and a lot of deaths obviously).
