Sods Law

I should have had my annual flu jab the week before last but due to an error at my surgery it was put back until 1st November. Well I don't know whether that window of opportunity was enough for the flu virus to get through but last Tuesday afternoon I went down with something that is way beyond 'man flu.' I wasn't the only one as three other members of staff, all female it has to be said, have been hit by the flu bug.

For the first time ever I was sent home from work twice, first on the Tuesday when my voice sounded like a weird mixture of Barry White trying to entice one his ladeez back to his place to that of a telephone pervert. So weird did I sound that, when not doing my Lee Marvin impersonation and claiming I was born under a wandering star (rather than opposite a brewery as was the case in real life) I managed to totally freak out our filing clerk who said I sounded like sex pest. Nathalie reckoned I sounded like a pervy taxi driver, I think I should have pursued that one further. The second time I was sent home was last Friday when I arrived at work looking as if I had run a marathon.

Spending four out of five days in bed isn't much fun. I'm from the old school that believes that a sick day means you are sick and stay in but when even listening to the Archers gets annoying you know things must be bad.

The really frustrating thing is that I've had an e-mail everyday since last Thursday from models wanting to have their photographs taken by me, including a Czech lady who is already an international model and I've had to turn down two jobs for last weekend and this weekend, the latter involving four models at a house on the Dorset/Devon border.

I have four days off next week, it's the last half term of the year, and I'm just hoping I'm germ free so that we can get out and enjoy some autumnal weather.

No, no...you're frustrating the models...

"he has a good reputation and is a good photographer and sounds SO SEXY on the phone...oooooh, but he can't make it this weekend"

When I'm next over and you feel you aren't able just let me know! (jejeje) I was a fair old clicker in my day. (will have to look up some old publishing!

P.S. word in the ar of nathalie...don't go home alone in an unmarked taxi!

Of course you know the typo in my P.S. should be "EAR" and not "ar"... and not anything else either!

I hope you have a speedy recovery, Paul, and that you get to enjoy at least some of the half term break.

What? Half term already? Where's this year gone?
