U.K Troop Deployment (Follow-up)

Some of you may have seen on the news over the weekend items referring to 5,000 U.K Troops in Afghanistan and I said the number there was below 1,000.

Having re-checked the facts (sources including the Army's own site) there are indeed 5,000 troops in Afghanistan who are from the U.K - they are however part of the NATO contingent of 18,500 men and women drawn mainly from the U.K, U.S.A, Canada and Poland.
