I'm knackered. Absolutely mentally shattered and I was watching on T.V. Well done Hammers, you would have put money on Carlitos scoring wouldn't you? I'd be hypercritical if I didn't mention the Man.United line-up but at least Richardson, Fletcher and Smith are all full internationals, not like the lot who turned out against Fulham for Liverpool.
What a bizarre season down the Boleyn, two English managers, two Argentinian signings and a Viking chairman! We did the double over Man.Utd and Arsenal and got beaten 6-0 at Reading on New Years Day. Whether Tevez stays or not he's been great, next season we'll have Dean Ashton back and hopefully the lessons from this season will have been learned. Eggie has promised Curbs £45 million to spend in the summer, let's hope we get three or four players of quality rather than 45 Nigel Quashie's or Lee Bowyers!
Commiserations to Watford, Sheffield United and Charlton - although I did predict the first two would go down last August. The T.V is full of promises that next season will be even better with Arsenal and Liverpool challenging for the title - oh really?
By the by on 13 August last year I posted my Premiership predictions.
1. Arsenal (4)
2. Manchester United (1)
3. Chelsea (2)
4. Liverpool (3)
-------------------------
5. Spuds (5)
6. West Ham United (15)
7. Newcastle United (13)
8. Bolton (7)
9. Portsmouth (9)
10.Blackburn Rovers (10)
11.Middlesbrough (12)
12.Everton (6)
13. Charlton Athletic (19)
14. Reading (8)
15. Manchester City (14)
16. Aston Villa (11)
17. Wigan Athletic (17)
--------------------
18. Fulham (16)
19. Watford (20)
20. Sheffield United (18)
Well I got the top four right but in the wrong order, three others in the right place and two of the three who went down - I won't give up my day job!
I'm off to celebrate not getting relegated, this time last year I was looking forward to an F.A Cup Final, funny game football.

SU won't be happy with ManU will they? oooer!
Of course you know that it is now almost a given that West Ham and Sheffield United will meet in the FA Cup...place your bets now! :-)
I'm pleased that Wet Sham stayed up BUT you have to admit that after all his blustering - SAF did NOT put out a strong team.
OK - so twinkle toes et al came on in the 2nd half but they weren't interested really.
As for Whelan and Warnock - they should go and boil their heads.
Waaah! We didn't stay up because Wet Sham didn't get points deducted! Waaah!
Alright - Wigan did stay up but for their chairman to blame Wet Sham for their predicament instead of their awful form on the pitch is a joke.
And what's with Berbatov and Lennon today? Both wearing gloves? Hello boys - it's MAY!
I can understand the vitriol from SU to a degree Span, but Sarnia has a point about them not doing enough on the pitch.
SAF didn't put out his strongest team which is why I had to make a comment, having said that he put out one that had 11 internationals in it - unlike Liverpool.
Berbatov, Lennon and Chumbawamba were all wearing gloves. Mind you I still smile when I see Pirlo wearing a polo neck under his Milan shirt - is that cool or just a bit gay?
IMHO, if Sheff Utd had had a half decent replacement for Rob Hulse, who broke his leg, they could easily have stayed up. However, like Sunderland last season, they relied on Jon Stead to score the goals that would keep them in the Premiership. Bad move, as we found out.
PS How can Pirlo be "a bit" gay? Surely, he's either gay or not. Do you think he could be bi?
A nil points deduction doesn't exactly act as a cautionary preventative measure for anyone thinking of a bit of dodgy dealing in the future though, does it?
I don't feel sorry for Sheffield because they didn't do it on the pitch when it mattered but equally I do feel that WH should have been deducted points if only to act as a warning to anyone else thinking of pulling a similar stunt. And Wigan do have a point about the evidence part of the story.
What was that post about managers not playing their full strength teams when the results really matter, I ask with my tongue firmly stuck in my cheek and eyes raised to the ceiling?
I must admit I had to laugh when the manager of SU (I think) said teh result on the pitch wasn't the root cause of their relegation...errrr...yes it was!
Well as I post this FIFA have announced an enquiry into the whole points deduction thing.
I stand by my post about weaker teams it's wrong and although Man.Utd did field 11 internationals, Fletcher, Richardson and Smith are not Ronnie, Rooney and Giggsy so they fielded a 'weaker' team.
Andy Townsend put forward a good argument for 'weaker' teams when he said that all teams have a squad that there clubs consider good enough for the premiership so that should be the end of it.
Remember when Man.Utd got fined for putting out a 'weak' team against Stoke in the League Cup. That 'weak' team included most of their Youth Cup winning side:Beckham, Giggs, Scholes etc - one man's weak team is another man's future European Champions.
