Is It Cos I's Colombian?
Saturday morning down the gym is a mixture of pain and pleasure, the pain is the exercise regime I've got into - yes I know it's going to make me healthier but boy does it hurt. The pleasure is when Colombia's own Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll appears on the television singing here 2002 hit 'Whenever, Wherever'.
I'm not going to make racist jokes about her accent, I mean blimey her English is better than my Spanish will ever be, and she looks hotter than a paella but there's one verse that makes me smile and then laugh. I can't help thinking that when she recorded this song her English wasn't as good as it is now and that somebody fooled her with the translation:
Lucky that my lips not only mumble
They spill kisses like a fountain
Lucky that my breasts are small and humble
So you don't confuse them with mountains
Lucky I have strong legs like my mother
To run for cover when I need it
And these two eyes that for no other
The day you leave will cry a river
You can see the video here, she's singing in her native tongue on this one, which makes her aound even sexier.
Alternatively there's an excellent parody here

oo..oo...oo...can I brag. i've been on a plane with Shakira to Buenos Aires...we weren't together as she was surrounded by bruisers and hangers-on...plus she's really short but very nice.
I also think she has a wonderful voice (not the silly pop tunes that become hits but the serious slower stuff.
P.S. You're beginning to worry me...you're adding stuff to your blog now whereas before you eschewed all 'that add-on stuff'
just watched teh parody...at the end when she stops singing is the funniest bit...
You old name dropper you! Shakira and Buenos Aires in the same sentence. I don't know which word makes me greener with envy :-)
I think Shakira is totally gorgeous. She brings out my sapphic tendencies. No two ways.
BTW Paul, I have to keep checking I'm on the right blog here. It sings and dances now!
I hope Span doesn't come back to this post - Mags and Shakira together will be too much for him to contemplate :-)
It doesn't take a lot to get Span going does it Paul? I must remember to let him know that we have given up on Barcelona for next year too, so he's safe for the time being!
hahaha...you can come if you want Mags!...oops maybe that should go on your double entendre post! :-)
