The link between Supermarkets and obesity is not a new one but the current Sainsburys/Fair Trade advert takes the biscuit, it goes something like this:

"Take a banana and cut it in half, sprinkle with Fair Trade sugar and then place under the grill until the sugar starts to brown, then add a spoonful of vanilla ice cream before covering in chocolate spread."

Well the message is that whilst your dying from diabetes, liver or kidney problems and on your final heart attack you can take comfort in the fact that the sugar that did for you was Fair Trade. It's barmy.
