Stage win number four

The boy done good! Mark Cavendish won his fourth stage of this years tour when he crossed the line ahead of the pack at Nimes after a tough stage from Narbonne. What was impressive about this was the margin of his win, often sprinters claim a stage by a wheel, or in the case of a stage earlier in the week less than a wheel - this time though Cav broke free and had enough power in his legs to finish ahead of his rivals by more than a length and a half.

He looks more knackered every day, which is hardly surprising really given the toughness of some of the stages caused not by the terrain but by cross winds on the flat stages. It will be interesting to see if he makes the start line today as the tour prepares for the Alps. He's set new records for a British rider and he may decide that he should return to the U.K and prepare for the Olympics.
